At some point, while we weren’t looking, the world of sport sort of recommenced. The Tour de France, the bike race all others build up to, kicked off “the season” in August and September. The Giro d’Italia, happening this month, is the second Grand Tour of 2020.
Meanwhile, the London Marathon kicked off as an elite-only race (45,000 or so runners competed virtually), and the MLB playoffs, French Open and NBA Finals are all in progress. Maybe these events wouldn’t have taken us by surprise if we didn’t have our heads buried in a (sand)pile of new gear — more on that below.

To make a new workout shirt, Ten Thousand launched a pilot program, surveyed feedback from over 4,000 customers and collected data from 2,000 hours of testing by fitness pros. Apparently, it revealed a lot because the brand chose to make not one new tee but three. There’s the Versatile Shirt for HIIT workouts and circuits, the Lightweight Shirt for running and rowing, and the Durable Shirt for hitting the weight bench.
Tracksmith released a backpack for run commuting, Ten Thousand unveiled a durable workout short, Jaxjox showed off smart dumbbells and more.
