A number of leading supermarkets are urgently recalling food products over safety and health fears.

Aldi, Iceland, Lidl, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose are among the businesses who are recalling items, which range from ice cream to donuts.

Some of the products are not labelled correctly, and pose a serious health risk for anyone with certain allergies.

Other items contain traces of salmonella, while some even contain pieces of plastic.

Anyone who may have bought one of these products should not consume them and instead should return them to the supermarket for a full refund.

Twix Barres Glacées (Twix Ice-Cream Bars) – Iceland

Iceland is recalling Twix Barres Glacées (Twix Ice-Cream Bars) because they contain milk, wheat (gluten) and soya which are not mentioned in English on the label.

They also may contain almonds and hazelnuts and peanuts.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds or hazelnuts, nuts, and/or peanuts, and/or soya, and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten and milk or milk constituents.

Caramel and Sea Salt Chocolate – Cocoa Libre

Cocoa Libre is recalling Caramel and Sea Salt Chocolate because it contains hazelnuts which are not mentioned on the label.

Bettinehoeve has taken the precautionary step of recalling Bettine Blanc Goat’s Cheese because the product might contain Listeria monocytogenes.

This product has been sold at Waitrose deli counters during the period September 4 to October 29, 2020.

The product listed above might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Symptoms caused by this organism can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea.

What’s Cooking? Lighter for You Meatballs with Pasta and Spinach – Lidl

Lidl has recalled some of its meatballs as they contain an undeclared allergen.

The supermarket giant is recalling What’s Cooking? Lighter for You Meatballs with Pasta and Spinach as some packets are incorrectly labelled.

The Meatball packets may contain chicken and mushroom pasta so could pose a health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

Lidl has told customers they can return the product to the store it was bought and receive a full refund.

Due to a packaging error, some products contain Waitrose No.1 Orange & Almond Chocolate instead.

This means they are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds, hazelnuts (nuts) and/or soya.
