Even though gyms are now open, if you’re feeling like you’re not quite ready to jump back into a class, you’re not alone. As someone who became almost addicted to group fitness, I found it SO difficult to work out at home while in lockdown. I have ventured out to a few of my fave fitness studios but as the COVID numbers start to climb back up, I’m getting a bit freaked out even though the gyms I’ve been to have been super careful. If you, like me, have been struggling to get your rear in gear and work out at home, then these goodies are sure to help you harness all the motivation.

There’s something about sliding into a new pair of leggings that somehow get you excited to get moving. Even though we’re always trying to penny pinch, it actually helps to buy activewear on the more pricey side because it’ll give you that extra little push to get moving. After all, you don’t want to splurge on $200 leggings to have them sit in your drawer collecting dust, right? My personal faves are leggings by Ultracor. They look fab and are seriously durable and comfy!
Don’t be tempted to do HIIT cardio in nothing but bare feet. Just like you would at the gym, get yourself a clean pair of sneakers to wear while working out at home. You may be wondering why you would need new sneakers but I doubt you want to track in dirt from the outside world while working out in your living room, right? A lightweight pair of kicks is what you’re after here and APL’s got you covered.
Don’t get me wrong, any weights are better than no weights at all but if you’re in the market for some new ones, why not source some dumbbells with some extra curb appeal? Pre-recorded fitness classes are great but if you’re finding that they’re not giving you the push you need, try a live class. Post-Work Out Massage
Stretching and giving your body some love post-workout is SO important and shouldn’t be overlooked. If you’re running short on time and don’t have time for a full routine, you’ll want to get your hands on a Therabody Theragun that gives you deep muscle treatment in just a few short minutes. If you don’t have a dedicated room to work out in, setting up a small station is definitely in order and part of that is having a cute yet functional mat to use. So you just finished your workout and want to know your heart rate or peek at how many calories you burned and a fitness tracker is the way to go. If you don’t have an Apple Watch, you can get all sorts of info from a Fitbit. Once you start keeping track, you can set personal goals and feel amazing as you crush each one!
